International cookies

TRAVERSE CITY — Northern Michigan Cultural Center and White Tiger Martial Arts will hold an International Christmas Cookie Walk on Saturday, Dec. 14.

Cookies from around the world will be sold from 1-4 p.m. at White Tiger’s new location, 1238 S. Garfield Ave. Shoppers can mix and match varieties for $6 a pound. Proceeds benefit Northern Michigan Cultural Center’s Shaolin Project. Call Jyl Gaskin, 267-5722, to learn more.

Christmas dinner

GRAYLING — The Crawford County Senior Center invites the public to a Christmas dinner on Thursday, Dec. 12.

The roast beef meal will be served from 4-6 p.m. at the senior center, 308 Lawndale. The suggested donation is $3 for ages 60 and older. The cost is $4.50 for ages 59 and younger. For details, call (989) 348-7123.

Lights, Bites and Books

SUTTONS BAY — The Suttons Bay Bingham District Library will host its inaugural “Lights, Bites and Books Gala” on Saturday, Dec. 14.

Holiday dance

TRAVERSE CITY — The Bayside Travellers Dance Society will host a holiday potluck and contra dance on Saturday, Dec. 14.

The potluck starts at 6 p.m. at Twin Lakes Park, 6800 N. Long Lake Road. Attendees should bring their own non-alcoholic beverage, table service and a dish to pass. The Rhythm Billies will present a musical program at 7:15 p.m. Contra dancing will start at 8 p.m. with the White Elephant gift exchange dance and continue until 11 p.m. Attendees should bring a wrapped gift to participate and recycled gifts are encouraged.

Admission is $10 for adults, $6 for students with ID and free for members.
