TRAVERSE CITY — The TC Ale Trail is partnering with Celtic Shuttles to offer VIP Brewery Tours to almost all of Traverse City’s craft breweries.
Three four-hour tours are available and include a tasting at each brewery, snacks, a commemorative TC Ale Trail growler including discounted fills at participating breweries, transportation and a knowledgeable tour guide. Upcoming tours start at 1 p.m. Jan. 11 and 25, from the Eighth Street Parking Deck, 125 E. Eighth St.

Winter Trails Day
TRAVERSE CITY — TART Trails, the Vasa Ski Club, Einstein Cycles and Timber Ridge Resort are teaming up to sponsor Winter Trails Day.
Free trail access, introductory ski lessons, fatbike demonstrations, guided snowshoe hikes and use of equipment for those new to winter trail sports will be available from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Jan. 11, at Timber Ridge Resort, 4050 Hammond Road. Equipment will be available on a first come, first served basis starting at 10:30 a.m. A driver’s license is required to check out equipment. Introductory ski lessons start at 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., while snowshoe hikes will start at 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m.
Free cookies and cocoa will be served in the lodge and chili will be available to purchase. The event is free, however registration is required either in advance at www.traversetrails.org or at the event. In case of weather that requires cancellation, TART Trails will post notice on its website and Facebook page.
Railroad buffs meet
TRAVERSE CITY — The Railroad Historical Society of Northwest Michigan will meet on Jan. 7.
The group will meet at 7 p.m. at the History Center of Traverse City. President George Gregory will present a video featuring travel on CP Rail with Budd RDC cars. The program is free and open to the public. For details, call Gregory, 946-6436.
Music in Leland
LELAND — Singer/songwriters May Erlewine and Seth Bernard will open the Performing Arts Series at the Old Art Building, 111 Main St.

TRAVERSE CITY — The Grand Traverse Conservation District’s Peepers preschool program returns Jan. 7, and continues through May 20.
Programs are held from 10-11:30 a.m. Tuesdays at the Boardman River Nature Center, 1450 Cass Road, for children ages 3 to 5 with an accompanying adult. January topics are: “Footprint Detectives” Jan. 7; “Sensing Snow” Jan. 14; “Evergreens-Forever Green” Jan. 21; and “Shadow Showdown” Jan. 28.
