---- — Sharon Geisler of Empire submitted today's "sinfully good" recipe, which she said she received many years ago from a dear friend.
She recently prepared and took it to a birthday party and said it was "a big, big hit."
"Everyone asked for the recipe," she added.
Swiss Bacon Dip
½ lb. bacon, rendered, drained and chopped
½ c. margarine, melted
½ c. crushed crackers (Ritz or Townhouse)
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
6 oz. shredded Swiss cheese
2 T. green onion, chopped
½ c. mayonnaise (fat free is OK, but regular is better)
Mix bacon with melted margarine and cracker crumbs. Set aside.
In separate bowl, mix cream cheese with Swiss cheese, green onion and mayonnaise. Put in microwaveable dish, like a quiche pan. Top with bacon mixture. Microwave 4-5 minutes, turning after two minutes. Serve with nacho chips or Frito's dipping chips.
