TRAVERSE CITY — The North Traverse Heights Neighborhood meeting on Thursday, Sept. 19, will include a candidate forum with City Commission candidates.

The meeting will start with the forum at 6 p.m. in the Traverse Heights Elementary School cafeteria, 933 Rose St.

Book talk, signing

ALDEN — Heather Shumaker will discuss and sign her book “It’s OK Not to Share and Other Renegade Rules for Raising Competent and Compassionate Kids” at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22, at the Alden District Library, 8751 Helena Road. The public is invited. For details, call 331-4318.

Land Conservancy

TRAVERSE CITY — The Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy will sponsor a native seed collection and host a bike tour.

Interested individuals may join GTRLC’s restoration efforts at Arcadia Marsh and the Arcadia Grasslands by helping harvest native plant seeds. The seed collection will be held from 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, in the Arcadia area.

The Land Conservancy and TART Trails will lead a bike tour of the Acme area from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, Sept. 28. GTRLC Associate Director Megan Olds and TART Executive Director Julie Clark will describe recent happenings and discuss future work in the Acme Area.
