Photo club meets

Traverse City — Dr. Bryan Shumaker, an avid astrophotographer and founder/president of the Northern Michigan Astronomy Club, will be the guest speaker at today's meeting of the Traverse Area Camera Club. The group will meet at 7 p.m. at The Presbyterian Church of Traverse City, 701 Westminster. The public is invited.

Meals for hunters

Fife Lake — The Walton Junction Sportsman's Club will close its year with breakfasts and a swiss steak dinner for area hunters.

Breakfast will be served from 5 to 11 a.m. today and Friday, Nov. 15-16, with the swiss steak meal served from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, The club will then close until April 2013.

Bombshells troupe

Traverse City — The Bayside Bombshells burlesque troupe will recreate "Bombshells in Burleyland," a production originally performed in downtown Grand Rapids for Art Prize.

The show is drawn from original textual and photographic annals of Lewis Carroll. It will be staged on Friday, Nov. 16, at InsideOut Gallery, 229 Garland St. The doors open at 8 p.m. and tickets are $10 each. For details, call 929-3254.

Liturgy series

Traverse City — A series of historical and experimental liturgies will close on Saturday, Nov. 17, at Grace Episcopal Church, 341 Washington St.

A celebration of "The Lord's Supper" from the Church of South India will be offered. The Church of South India is a successful attempt to pull together several Christian denominations in order to make a unified witness to a largely un-Christian population. The liturgy has Anglican, Methodist, and Reformed overtones influenced by the local culture. The Rev. Katheryn King will preach and preside.

Participants can enjoy a taste of South India following the service. Call 947-2330 for details.

Holiday cookies

Traverse City — American Legion Post 35 will hold its fifth annual "Holiday Cookie Sale" on Saturday, Nov. 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the post home, 1231 Hastings St. This year some crafts have been added to the event. For details, call 922-2119.
