---- — Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital in Frankfort recently received a Summit Award for patient satisfaction scores for its emergency department services from Press Ganey, the nation's largest patient satisfaction organization.
The Summit Award is one of the organization's most prestigious honors. It recognizes hospitals that rank in the top five percent in the U.S. for patient satisfaction for three years in a row. Only 24 hospitals nationwide were honored for emergency department care.
The Cadillac Area Backpack program recently received a $1,500 grant from the Cadillac and Kellogg for Youth Committee.
The program, formed in April 2011, provides healthy food items to Cadillac children who are at risk of hunger when they leave school for the weekend and have no access to school meals. Bags of food containing six meal options and six snacks are included in each child's bag every weekend with additional food items supplied during Christmas and spring breaks.
The program currently serves 300 students. The grant will allow it to feed an additional 20 children this school year.
