Nurses welcome

Traverse City — The Registered Nurses Association in Michigan will meet Thursday, Jan. 10. All nurses and student nurses are welcome.

The group will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in classrooms A and B at Munson Community Health Center, 550 Munson Ave. Physical therapist Kathryn Bechtold will discuss treatment of urinary and fecal incontinence. State President Susan Wozniak, RN, also will visit. One continuing education hour will be awarded for those attending the entire presentation.

Quit smoking class

Suttons Bay — The American Lung Association will offer a "Freedom from Smoking" class.

The class will meet 6-8 p.m. six Mondays starting Jan. 7, and one Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Martha's Leelanau Table. Attendance at all classes is recommended. Quit night is Wednesday, Jan. 23.

The class fee is $150 and payment plans and scholarships are available. The first class is free and there is a discount for early registration. For details or to register, call 271-3684 or email ldanto@mac.com.

Prenatal yoga

Traverse City — The Health Education Institute, a partnership between Northwestern Michigan College and Munson Medical Center, will offer a prenatal yoga class for future mothers.

The class meets from 5 to 6 p.m. Mondays, Jan. 7-Feb. 11, at Yoga for Health Education in the Village Center, 1200 W. 11th St. It is suitable for any stage of pregnancy.

Church women meet

Traverse City — Church Women United will meet Thursday, Jan. 10, at Central United Methodist Church, 222 Cass St.

The luncheon meeting will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a program by Central United Methodist Women. Attendees should bring a dish to share for the meal and baby items for a Pregnancy Care Center Shower.
