Solstice concert

Leland — May Erlewine and Seth Bernard will perform a Winter Solstice Concert and sing-along Saturday, Dec. 22.

The duo will perform at 8 p.m. at the Old Art Building, 111 Main St. Music from Erlewine's recent CD, "A Long Way Home," will be featured. Tickets are $10 at the door.

Country concert

Central Lake — Len Sherwood, a country-gospel singer from Traverse City, will be in concert tonight, Dec. 21, at 7 p.m. at the Central Lake Seventh-day Adventist Church, 2525 Green Street.

Movie for children

Traverse City — Children are invited to spend a morning during winter vacation at the Peninsula Community Library.

The library, 2699 Island View Road, will show "The 12 Dogs of Christmas: Great Puppy Rescue" (PG) from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Dec. 27. There is no charge. For details, call 223-7700 or visit www.peninsulacommunitylibrary.org.

Switchback benefit

Elk Rapids — Switchback will give a holiday concert Friday, Dec. 28, to benefit the Historic Elk Rapids Town Hall Association.

A cocktail hour at 7 p.m. will be followed by the concert at 8 p.m. at the Historic Elk Rapids Town Hall. Switchback will be joined by local musicians Jessica Hoover, Marianne Rivers, Joe Yuchasz, Dylan Sundberg, Joe Jannise and Jerry DeGrazia.

Museum hours

Manistee — The Manistee County Historical Museum's Christmas exhibit continues through Sunday, Dec. 30.

"Waiting for a Letter From Home — Christmas in Manistee County during Wartime — From the Civil War through the War in the Gulf" features wartime memorabilia and vintage Christmas decor and toys displayed in period settings.

There also is a traditional exhibit of classic toy trains.

Holiday hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, except Dec. 25. Admission is $3 per person, $5 per couple, $1 for students and $7 for parents and children. For details, call 723-5531.
