In June, Barbara McIntyre, Ph.D., ATR-BC, LPC, will present the paper “Grief Expression and Healing Through Art” at the 44th annual American Art Therapy Conference in Seattle.
McIntyre is a registered/board certified art therapist in private practice in Traverse City. She has worked with youth grieving the death or illness of loved ones for more than 28 years and currently provides individual and group therapy to children and parents dealing with loss and separation.

The Benzie Sunrise Rotary Club continued its longtime support of Benzie Area Christian Neighbors with a $2,000 donation for BACN’s General Education Diploma (GED) program.
With a matching grant of $1,000 obtained by the club from Rotary Charities, the GED program is fully funded for 2013. The program offers people whose education was interrupted a chance to receive the equivalent of a high school diploma.
Munson Occupational Medicine Specialist Darryl Lesoski, MD, MPH, recently received certification from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration as a registered medical examiner.
The certification means that Dr. Lesoski has completed training and testing concerning the federal physical qualifications and standards for truck and bus drivers and has the necessary knowledge and professional credentials to perform physical examinations of commercial motor vehicle drivers in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations. After May 21, 2014, all commercial motor vehicle drivers who are required to be medically certified must be examined and certified by a medical examiner listed on the national registry.
Dr. Lesoski practices at Munson Medical Center’s Occupational Health and Medicine Clinic, 550 Munson Ave., Traverse City, and at clinics in Grayling and Cadillac.
