CHARLEVOIX — Nominations open Monday, Jan. 27, for Castle Farms of Charlevoix’s first “A Salute to Our Soldiers! Castle Farms Dream Military Wedding Giveaway!”
Castle Farms has partnered with local vendors to provide one military couple with a dream wedding.
The contest is open to all northern Michigan couples with one or both people active or retired members of any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces. Couples must be nominated by someone other than themselves. One or both military personnel must currently live in Alcona, Alpena, Antrim, Benzie, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Chippewa, Crawford, Emmet, Grand Traverse, Iosco, Leelanau, Luce, Kalkaska, Manistee, Mackinac, Missaukee, Montmorency, Ogemaw, Oscoda, Otsego, Presque Isle, Roscommon or Wexford counties. Couples must be unmarried and not in the process of getting a divorce. Couples must be over the age of 18 and citizens of the United States.
The winning couple will have until Dec. 31 to plan and host their wedding in the Queen’s Tavern at Castle Farms. Guest count is limited to 50 or less, including the bridal party. The winners may not include and/or pay for extra guests. Alcohol is not included and must be purchased by the winning couple and must be served by a licensed and insured bartender at the couple’s expense. All nominated couples must give their permission and agree to the stated terms and conditions of the contest. The number of nominations submitted per couple does not impact their chances of winning.
To nominate a military hero for the contest, nominators must submit: the names and ages of the couple, contact information including address, phone and email address for both, military service information including military branch, service date and current status, photo of the couple only, a 500-word or less essay on how the couple met and/or their love story, one “fun fact” about the couple and why the nominator thinks they deserve to win the give-away.
