TRAVERSE CITY — Families with young children are invited to the GT Area Preschool and Child Resource Fair.
Fair hours are 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at Trinity Lutheran School, 1003 S. Maple St. Area preschools, child care centers and local businesses that cater to children will be on hand with information and activities for children. A Mother Care Station also will be available for changing diapers, feeding young children and quiet time.

Robert Burns Night
TRAVERSE CITY — The St. Andrews Society of Northwest Michigan will host Robert Burns Night on Sunday, Jan. 26.
The event starts at 5 p.m. at Sleder’s Family Tavern, 717 Randolph St. The meal features a choice of entree and side dishes, plus a side salad and dessert. A children’s menu will be available. There also will be entertainment by Clyde Buchanan, Jane Arney and Highland dancers.

MSU, U-M party
FRANKFORT — The MSU Alumni Club of Benzie County will host an MSU-UM basketball party on Saturday, Jan. 25.
The game starts at 7 p.m. at Villa Marine, 228 Main St. Activities include a 50/50 drawing and a score-by-half board. There is no charge. Donations will be accepted to support the Benzie Spartans’ efforts to provide scholarships to Benzie County students entering MSU. Viewers are invited to come early for dinner ordered from the menu.
