Kindergarten options

TRAVERSE CITY — A panel of representatives from area schools and parents will discuss kindergarten options in the area and kindergarten readiness at a parent education night at the Traverse City Cooperative Preschool.

“Kindergarten Readiness: Preschool and Beyond” will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, at the cooperative preschool, 720 Elmwood Ave., suite 1. The program is free and open to the public. For details, call 883-3142.

Artist-in-Residence

GLEN ARBOR — Upper Peninsula photographer Paul Rose will give a presentation on Thursday, Jan. 23, as part of his two-week winter residency with the Glen Arbor Art Association.

Rose is taking a 24-hour approach to photographing Glen Arbor and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore during his residency. He will discuss his work and his experiences during the residency at 7:30 p.m. at the Glen Arbor Art Association, 6031 S. Lake St. The program is free and open to the public. Wild Rose concert

BEULAH — Guitarist Jennifer Trowbridge and pianist Michael Coonrod are the featured performers for the Sunday, Jan. 26, Wild Rose Society concert.

The concert starts at 3 p.m. at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church on U.S. 31, and will be followed by a reception to meet the artists. A free-will donation will be taken to support the Wild Rose scholarship program.

Beginning Bridge

TRAVERSE CITY — The Senior Center Network will offer Beginner Bridge Classes for adults 50 and older at its Traverse City location, 801 E. Front St.

Classes will meet from noon-2:30 p.m. for five Mondays, starting Jan. 27. Intermediate classes also will be offered. Advance registration is required.
