Tickets available for author event

TRAVERSE CITY -- Tickets are still available for an appearance by Bich Minh Nguyen, author of this year's Great Michigan Read selection, "Stealing Buddha's Dinner."

Nguyen will be at the City Opera House in Traverse City Oct. 14. Tickets are free for students K-12, but must be reserved. Tickets are $11 for adults and include a book-signing reception after the event. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the event begins at 7 p.m.

Mystery writers will be in Cadillac

CADILLAC -- The mystery tour continues.

Three northern Michigan writers -- Elizabeth Kane Buzzelli, Mardi Link and Aaron Stander -- will be in Cadillac Saturday at noon.

The authors will discuss their fiction and nonfiction murder mysteries at Herradura's Mexican Bar and Grill, 1700 S. Mitchell St. The event is hosted by the Friends of the Cadillac Wexford Public Library. Lunch can be ordered off the menu.
