Christmas dinner

TRAVERSE CITY — The Community Meals Program is looking for donations of time, food and money for its 24th annual Community Christmas Dinner.

The meal will be served from 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 25, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1003 S. Maple St. Meals will be delivered starting at 11:15 a.m. For details, transportation, to volunteer, make a donation, arrange for meal delivery or to share the names of shut-ins and those who will be alone on the holiday, call Gwen Stokes, 409-2894.

Art programs

TRAVERSE CITY — Blackbird Arts, 1485 Barlow St., is offering a series of holiday-themed events and classes.

The schedule includes “Big Feet-Little Fleet Dance and Dine,” Dec. 5; “Family Art Night: Clay Gingerbread Houses,” Dec. 6; “Handmade Holidays for Adults,” Dec. 7; a “Handmade Holidays Art Camp,” Dec. 7; a family concert with Seth Bernard and May Erlewine, Dec. 8; and a “Metal Ornament Workshop,” Dec. 9.

Sparkle in the Park

BEAR LAKE — Bear Lake’s holiday lighting display features more than 50 sites this Christmas season.

Visitors are welcome to view the displays from 5-10 p.m. nightly through Wednesday, Jan. 1. There is no charge, however a box for donations is located near Toyland Bear Lake. The entrance to Sparkle in the Park is off U.S. 31 directly across from the village Christmas tree.

Christmas Village

EAST JORDAN — The East Jordan Lions Club’s Christmas Village will be open to visitors from Thursday, Dec. 5, through Sunday, Jan. 5.

Lighted holiday displays may be viewed at East Jordan Tourist Park, where children may visit with Santa Claus from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, in the Log Building. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served. For details, call 582-2770.

Holiday open house

KINGSLEY — The Kingsley Friends of the Library will host a Holiday Open House on Thursday, Dec. 5.
