Gallery 50 exhibit

TRAVERSE CITY — An exhibit titled “Down on the Farm” opens with a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, at Gallery 50, 800 Cottageview Drive, suite 50.

The exhibit will be on display through Oct. 27. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. For details, call 932-0775 or visit www.galleryfifty.com.

School retirees

TRAVERSE CITY — Reservations are due Friday, Sept. 6, for the next luncheon meeting of the Grand Traverse Retired School Personnel.

The chapter will meet at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, at the West Bay Beach Resort-A Holiday Inn Resort, 615 E. Front St. Chris Treter, founder of Higher Grounds Coffee, will be the guest speaker.

Senior yoga class

TRAVERSE CITY — The Senior Center Network will offer an eight-week senior yoga series.

Classes meet at 8:15 a.m. eight Mondays starting Sept. 9, at the Traverse City Senior Center, 801 E. Front St. Participants will focus on protecting risk areas of the body while building strength and flexibility through lyenger-based yoga postures. Mats are provided or participants may bring their own.

The cost for the series is $35 for Senior Center Network members; $5 for drop ins. Participants who register by Friday, Sept. 6, receive a discount. For details or to register, call 922-4911.

Teen Bible Study

TRAVERSE CITY — High school students in ninth through 12th grades interested in attending Grand Traverse Teen Community Bible Study are invited to register at a kick-off event on Monday, Sept. 9.

The kick-off will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the Corner Building at Faith Reformed Church, 1105 E. Front St. The interdenominational, in-depth Bible study will meet on Mondays through April 28 and will focus on the books of Hebrews, Galatians and Colossians. Prior Bible knowledge is not required.
