TRAVERSE CITY — Mary Jane Doerr, Tyler Svec and Elizabeth Buzzelli will sign their books Saturday, May 18, at Horizon Books, 243 E. Front St.
Doerr, author of "Bay View: an American Idea," will sign her books from noon to 2 p.m. Svec, author of "Rebellion," will visit the book store from 2 to 4 p.m. and Elizabeth Buzzelli, author of the Emily Kincaid mystery series will sign "Dead Little Dolly, the latest book in the series, from 4 to 6 p.m.

Kung Fu tourney/demo
TRAVERSE CITY — SEEDS' White Tiger students from around the region will compete in a kung fu tournament and demonstration Sunday, May 19. The event is open to the public.
The tournament and demo will start at 10 a.m. at Twin Lakes Park, 6800 N. Long Lake Road. There also will be music, archery, art, and a free barbecue at noon. For details, call 947-0312 or visit www.ecoseeds.org.
FIFE LAKE — Walton Junction Sportsman's Club will host a breakfast on Saturday, May 18.
The meal will be served from 7 to 11 a.m. at the club, 11207 E. County Line Road. The cost is $7 for adults, $2.50 for ages 5 to 11 and free for children 4 and younger. The public is welcome.
Baby pantry benefit
TRAVERSE CITY — Books-A-Millions at the Crossings Mall, will donate a percentage of their sales from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 18, to the Grand Traverse Baby Pantry when a Book Fair coupon is presented.

TRAVERSE CITY — "Les Miserables" will open the Old Town Playhouse 2013-14 season. Auditions will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 19, for performers ages 15 and younger only, and for everyone beginning at 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, May 20-21, at the playhouse, 148 E. Eighth St.

Rock hounds meet
TRAVERSE CITY — The Grand Traverse Area Rock & Mineral Club meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, at the History Center of Traverse City, 322 Sixth St. There will be a program titled "The Collecting and Carving of Alabaster Rock," a report on Baker Ranch geodes and a short business meeting. Visitors are welcome.
Delta Kappa Gamma
