Relay for Life help

TRAVERSE CITY — Boone’s Long Lake Inn will support Relay for Life Grand Traverse by donating a portion of the receipts today, April 27, to Relay for Life. The restaurant is located at 7208 Secor Road.


Mt. Holiday cleanup

TRAVERSE CITY — Today, April 27, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. is Volunteer Clean Up Day at Mt. Holiday, 3100 Holiday Road. Volunteers should bring rakes, shovels, leaf blowers, trimmers, work gloves and any other clean-up equipment they have available.


Pancake ‘feast’

EMPIRE — The Empire Lions Club will hold its annual Pancake Feast on Sunday, April 28, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Empire Town Hall. The cost is $6.00 for adults, $3.00 for children ages 7-12, and free for children 6 and younger.


’Chasing Ice’

EMPIRE — Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore will hold free screenings of “Chasing Ice” today, April 27.

The documentary will be shown at 2 and 4 p.m. at the National Lakeshore Visitor Center auditorium. Reservations are recommended; call 326-5135, ext. 328.


NMC jazz groups

TRAVERSE CITY — Northwestern Michigan College jazz ensembles will showcase a variety of styles at a concert today, April 27, in Milliken Auditorium.

The concert starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students and senior citizens. They are available at, or by calling 995-1553.


Spring cleanup

BRETHREN — Volunteers are needed to help clean up at Spirit of the Woods Conservation Club, which is open to the public at all times.

The work bee will take place from 9 a.m. to noon today, April 27. Attendees should bring yard equipment. For details, call 239-5083 or 477-5525.


Habitat benefit

MANCELONA — A music celebration on Sunday, April 28, will benefit Habitat for Humanity-Antrim County.

A variety of musical acts will perform at 4 p.m. at the Mancelona United Methodist Church, 117 E. Hinman. A free-will offering will be collected. For details, call 587-8461.
