Shopping fundraiser

Traverse City — Downtown Traverse City shoppers will be able to donate 15 percent of their purchase amounts to area nonprofit organizations on Shop Your Community Day, Saturday, Nov. 10.

Shoppers should indicate to sales associates at participating stores where they want their percentage to go. More than 50 downtown merchants are participating in the fundraiser. For details including a list of participating merchants and nonprofit organizations, visit

Super Saturday

Traverse City — Artist Mariah Manning will guide third through fifth graders in creating art showcasing the different styles of artists Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso in a Super Saturday program on Nov. 10.

Events at Wagbo

East Jordan — Martha Wagbo Farm and Education Center's next community potluck will focus on "Thinking for Beginners." It also will host the Northwoods Family Nature Club.

Daniel Proudfoot will guide participants in an introductory presentation on how to think at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10. A potluck will start at 6 p.m. There is no charge and tableware and beverages will be provided. Attendees may bring a dish to pass if they wish.

The Northwoods Family Nature Club will meet from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, for families with children of all ages. There is no charge.

Campeau retirement

Lake Ann — The community is invited to an open house Saturday, Nov. 10, to celebrate Dawn Campeau's retirement after 33 years as Almira Township Treasurer.

Refreshments will be served from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Almira Township Hall in downtown Lake Ann. For details, call 313-1960.
