---- — - Traverse City student, Hannah Carson, 13, recently returned from an inspiring trip, where she attended a People to People World Leadership Forum. She and fellow delegates from around the world participated in traveling from Virginia to Washington D.C., Philadelphia, New York, Maryland and back to Virginia. Participants learn about leadership and how iconic leaders throughout history have handled world events. The People to People World Leadership Forum offers students a blend of specialized educational, leadership and cultural exposure through a variety of programs, as well as an itinerary filled with the highlights of the hosting community.

- The Traverse Area Running Club just completed their second summer session of training with a total membership of 72 middle school and high school age runners. The Top TARCer Award went to those individuals who displayed a commitment to improve their endurance in addition to good sportsmanship. This year's awards went to Traverse City West Middle School students, Molly Hall and Jacob Dean, and Traverse City West High School students, Quinn Hall and Alex Ondrajka.
