Live Nativity

Manton — Living Word Ministries will host a Live Nativity on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 14-15.

The 30-minute shows will take place between 6 and 8 p.m. outdoors at Living Word Ministries, 800 S. Michigan Ave. There is no charge and free coffee, hot chocolate and snacks will be served. For details, visit www.mantonlwm.com.

Holiday jazz concert

Charlevoix — The Charlevoix Public Library will host a holiday concert with JATL: Jazz @ the Library.

The concert from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, will showcase keyboardist Steve Stargardt, bassist Andy Evans and drummer Chris Ames, with special appearances by vocalist Claudia Schmidt and saxophonist Bill Sears.

Music for winter

Suttons Bay — The Axiom Brass Quintet will perform "Music for a Winter's Journey" at the next Arcturos Concert hosted by Chamber Music North.

The concert will start at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, at Black Star Farms, 10866 Revold Road. An optional pre-concert dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. for $30 per person. Concert tickets are $25 each.

Handel's 'Messiah'

Petoskey — The Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra and Chorus will perform Handel's Messiah on Thursday and Friday, Dec. 13-14.

The performance starts at 7 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. This year's program has two 40-minute halves separated by an intermission so more sections of the original oratorio may be performed than in previous years. Reserved seats are $75, $50 and $25. General admission is $15 for adults; free for students, youth age 18 and under, military personnel and people with disabilities registered with VSA Arts of Michigan.
