Pleasanton offers classes

TRAVERSE CITY — Pleasanton Brick Oven Bakery is offering a Natural Leavening workshop for the home baker.

Participants in the workshop will take home new skills, warm loaves and enough of Pleasanton's "mother" to get started at home.

Cookbooks for sale?

TRAVERSE CITY — If your church or other nonprofit organization has produced a cookbook and it's available for sale at the holidays, please let the Record-Eagle know. Next week's Food section will feature a few local cookbooks and we'll run a listing of any others that are available in the region.

We don't need a book, just the details: book's name, organization produced by, description of format and overall contents, price, how to obtain one and a sample recipe.
