Festival of Trees

The Benzie Area Historical Museum hosts the Festival of Trees to benefit Habitat for Humanity of Benzie County today and Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. Steve Elrick will read Truman Capote's "A Christmas Memory" on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. There's no admission, though cash donations are welcome in a box by the door.

True pigs story

The annual Glen Arbor Pajama Party is from 5 to 7 p.m. today for special holiday shopping. Tree lighting and caroling is at 7 p.m., followed by a preview of the Marketplace showcasing local artists and merchants on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

The 5th annual Artisan Market Place is Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. at the Empire Township Hall, to be followed by the village tree lighting at dark.
