Raven Hillholiday hours

EAST JORDAN — Raven Hill Discovery Center will be open over Memorial Day weekend.

Hands-on holiday hours are noon-4 p.m. Saturday through Monday, May 24-26. On Tuesday, May 27, summer hours go into effect and the center will be open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday, noon-4 p.m. Saturday, and 2-4 p.m. Sunday through Aug. 29.

Maple Table‘pops up’

EAST JORDAN — The Martha Wagbo Farm and Education Center will host a brunch at its “pop-up” restaurant The Maple Table.

The pancake and local food restaurant will offer a maple-themed brunch from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, May 31-June 1, at the education center, 5745 N. M-66.

Dine out for BACN

BENZIE COUNTY — Diners can enjoy a meal out and help Benzie Area Christian Neighbors on Tuesday, June 3.

On that date, the Historic Watervale Inn in Arcadia and the Coho Cafe in Frankfort will donate a portion of each receipt to BACN.

Aging Commission meets June 3

TRAVERSE CITY — The Grand Traverse County Commission on Aging will hold a board meeting at 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, at the Commission on Aging office, 520 W. Front St., suite B. The public is invited. For details, call 922-4688.

Artist talksabout work

GLEN ARBOR — Dennis O’Mara, the Glen Arbor Art Association artist-in-residence from May 18-31, will talk about his residency in a program on Thursday, May 29.

O’Mara, a Hastings resident, works in a variety of media and currently is at work on a series of 2-D images that explore “The End of Print” news media. During his residency, he will make plein air sketches of the locality and its residents, which will be incorporated into the series.
