Work bee canceled

MAPLE CITY — Friends of the Light Church in Traverse City has canceled a cemetery work bee and potluck scheduled for Sunday, May 25. The slow start to spring has made it unnecessary to do the work the church was planning.

Parkinson’s support group

TRAVERSE CITY — Neurologist Heather Lee, DO, will discuss all things Parkinson’s at the Wednesday, May 28, meeting of the Parkinson’s Network North support group. The group will meet at 10 a.m. at the Traverse City Senior Center, 801 E. Front St. The public is invited.

Grange dance

SUMMIT CITY — A country dance will be hosted Saturday, May 24, at the Summit City Grange Hall, 3060 Factory St.

A soup supper at 6 p.m. will be followed by dancing to live music from 7-10 p.m. Donations are appreciated. Call 263-4499 for details.

Unity Church sale

TRAVERSE CITY — Unity Church will sponsor its annual Circulation Sale on Saturday, May 24.

The sale will be held from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at the church, 3600 Five Mile Road. Most items will not be priced, with some possible exceptions on high-end items. Purchasers are invited to make a contribution worthy of the item taken. For details, call 938-9587.

Pancake breakfast

LAKE ANN — The Lake Ann Lions Club will hold a pancake breakfast on Sunday, May 25.

The meal will be served from 8 a.m.-noon at the Old Almira Township Hall. The cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children 11 and younger and free for preschoolers.

Jazz session

TRAVERSE CITY — Sunday Jazz Sessions at Chateau Chantal will feature an afternoon of jazz classics by the Jeff Haas Trio with Jack Dryden on bass and Randy Marsh on drums and harmonica.

The trio will perform from 3-5:30 p.m. Sunday, May 25, at the winery, 15900 Rue de Vin. There is no cover charge and select Chateau wines or sparkling juices, lemonade and coffee will be available. For details, call 223-4110 or email wine@chateauchantal.com.
