Mesick Museum exhibit

Magician performs

ELK RAPIDS — Magician Ben Whiting will share the magic of nature in a performance based on the book "Look About You" on Saturday, May 17, at the Elk Rapids Historical Museum.

The book by northern Michigan native Erin Anderson focuses on her encounters with fairies and the natural beauty that surrounds the Grand Traverse area. Whiting's performance will bring Anderson's tales to life.

The performance starts at 10:30 a.m. and is being hosted in conjunction with Green ER Days. Admission is free and the public is welcome.

Successful Aging series

TRAVERSE CITY — Dr. Jason Buttleman, DC, will discuss "Chiropractic Care: Why Do We Hurt" at the next program in the Successful Aging series.

The program starts at 2 p.m. Monday, May 19, at the Grand Traverse Pavilions, off South Elmwood Avenue. Admission is free and the public is welcome. Call 932-3027 to learn more.

Garden club meets

ACME — Duke Elsner, MSU Extension entomologist, will talk about insects at the Tuesday, May 20, meeting of the Sweetwater Evening Garden Club.

Register for Mom2Mom sale

GRAYLING — Moms interested in participating in Crawford County United Way's Mom2Mom Sale & Swap have until Friday, May 23, to submit paid registrations.

The sale and swap will be held from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, May 31, at the old Hometown Furniture Store, 2436 S. I-75 Business Loop. Participating moms will have a 10- by 10-foot space to sell or swap their children's items. The booth fee is a $20 donation to the Crawford County United Way. Moms also are asked to donate an item to the Crawford County Baby to Toddler Closet to help those in need. Admission to the sale and swap is $1 for adults.
