---- — The American Red Cross of Northwest Michigan recognized partners and volunteers for outstanding service and added to its Board of Directors at its 96th annual Membership Meeting and Recognition Event.
New members of the local Board of Directors are Todd Neinhouse of Agevix LLC, Doreen VanDommelen, a registered nurse with 30 years of experience, Joseph Winowiecki of Versus Technology, and Donna Phillips of the Frankfort-Elberta Chamber of Commerce.
Recognition for outstanding service went to Angela Ondrajka, Health and Safety Instructor of the Year; Jill Forney, Volunteer of the Year; Diana Bitner, Disaster Volunteer of the Year; and Neal Horning, Service to the Armed Forces Honoree of the Year.
TV 7 & 4 News was recognized as Community Partner of the Year for increasing the breadth of reach into the community, impacting the fiscal bottom line and solidifying Red Cross relationship with the community.
The Travelodge was recognized at Disaster Supporter of the Year for helping take care of Red Cross clients who have had home fires and are in need of hotel lodging.
A special certificate of recognition was presented to Captain Joseph R. Buzzella Jr., who served on the local board during his two-year tenure as commander at the U.S. Coast Guard Air Station, Traverse City.
