GOP meeting

BELLAIRE — The Antrim County Republican Party will meet from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Monday, July 15, at Forest Home Township Hall, 321 N. Bridge St.

‘Mad Science’

TRAVERSE CITY — The Great Lakes Children’s Museum is offering hands-on family activities geared toward children ages 6 and older on Mondays through the summer.

On “Mad Science Monday,” July 15, families can explore the world of meteorology from 1 to 3 p.m. Children will learn about clouds and storms and make a mini-weather station. Activities are included in museum admission.

Masonic steak

TRAVERSE CITY — Traverse City Masonic Lodge No. 222 will host a fundraising steak fry on Sunday, July 14, featuring 12-ounce New York strip steak.

The meal will be served from 1 to 4 p.m. at the lodge, 13360 S. West Bay Shore Dr. A $20 donation is requested and proceeds benefit the Almoners Fund. There also will be a 50/50 raffle.

Mormon picnic

TRAVERSE CITY — The community is invited to a free picnic and question and answer session with members of the Traverse City branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The casual event will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. today, July 13, at F & M Park on the corner of State Street and Railroad Avenue.

Summer concert

LELAND — The next “Of Note” free summer music concerts feature Sylvia Norris, David Holland and Tess Miller on Sunday, July 21, and Dorothy Vogel on Sunday, July 28.

Norris, Holland and Miller will present a “Harp, Flute & Viola Extravaganza,” while Vogel will play “Fresh and Familiar Piano.” Both concerts start at 3 p.m. at Leland United Methodist Church, 106 E. 4th St. The public is invited and reservations are not required.
