Cherry smorgasbord

FRANKFORT — The Frankfort United Methodist Women will host the 10th annual “Very Cherry Smorgasbord” from 5-7 p.m., July 17 at the church located at 537 Crystal Ave.

All entrees, salads and desserts will include cherries in some form. The cost is $12 for adults, $6 for children 4-12; and free for those children 3 and younger. Tickets will be available at the door – there are no advance ticket sales.

All proceeds go to support mission work.

Support group forms

TRAVERSE CITY — Northern Lights, a support group for persons who have had a near death experience, their family and friends is now forming.

Meetings will be held on the second Saturday of each month, beginning today, from noon to 2 p.m. at Munson Community Health Center rooms A-B.

Facilitators will be Rev. Mary Robling M.A., Certified Spiritual Director, Doctor of Ministry candidate and Kellogg Foundation Expert on Near Death Studies and Sharon Neumann outreach coordinator, Senior Center Network.

Senior luncheon

INTERLOCHEN — Senior citizens are invited to a luncheon hosted by Redeemer Lutheran Church at noon, Monday at the church located at US 31 and Rogers Road. Following the lunch, veterans will be honored and July birthdays and anniversaries will be celebrated. The cost of the meal is $3.


Teen bible study

TRAVERSE CITY — Grand Traverse Teen Community Bible Study will hold a keep in touch event from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday in the corner building at Faith Reformed Church, 1105 E. Front St.

Drew Peterson, director of student ministries, will be the featured guest speaker. Past, current, and prospective Teen CBS students and friends are invited to attend the event, which also will include dinner, praise and worship.

Teen CBS is an interdenominational, in-depth Bible study for ninth through 12th graders.
