Support group forms

TRAVERSE CITY — Northern Lights, a support group for persons who have had a near death experience, their family and friends is now forming.

Meetings will be held on the second Saturday of each month, beginning July 12, from noon to 2 p.m. at Munson Community Health Center rooms A-B.

Facilitators will be Rev. Mary Robling M.A., Certified Spiritual Director, Doctor of Ministry candidate and Kellogg Foundation Expert on Near Death Studies and Sharon Neumann, outreach coordinator, Senior Center Network.

Junior gardening series

BENZONIA — Grow Benzie is offering a series of six Junior Master Gardener classes, taught by master gardener Jackie Hice and nutritional therapist Abby Beale.

There is no fee for the sessions and class size is limited is limited to 12 for the one hour classes. Additional classes may be scheduled if there is a demand that needs to be filled. The classes will be held on Mondays at 3 p.m.

Children 4-6 may attend Plant Growth and Development, July 7; Butterflies and other Insects, July 14; Vegetables and Herbs, July 21. Children 7-9 may attend Ecology and Environment, July 28; Fruits and Nuts, Aug. 4; Saladrama, Aug. 11.

Elder law talk

TRAVERSE CITY — Deborah Rysso, a law partner at Rysso and Wingfield, PLLC, will speak at the next Village at Bay Ridge Speaker Series luncheon. Topics will include elder law, estate planning, Medicaid and the new property tax uncapping law.

The Speakers Series luncheon will be in the West Building dining room and includes a light lunch of tuna melt sandwich, coleslaw, and brownie sundae. A reservation with prepayment of $6 is required by July 10. The Village at Bay Ridge is located 3950 Scenic Ridge off Silver Lake Road. Call 932-9455 to reserve your place or for more information.
