Book signings

TRAVERSE CITY — Horizon Books will host book signings by the following authors:

n Kelly McNees, author of “The Island of Doves,” 4 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, July 9.

n David Anthony and Charles David, authors of “Heroes A 2 Z: The Cherry Bomb Squad,” 2 to 4 p.m., Thursday, July 10 through Saturday, July 12.

n John Mitchell, author of “Prehistoric Great Lakes,” 12 to 2 p.m., Friday, July 11.

n Carl Sams, author of “Stranger in the Woods,” 2 to 4 p.m.,Saturday, July 12.


Author McNees visits Gaylord

GAYLORD — Kelly O’Connor McNees will visit Saturn Booksellers at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 8, for a reading and signing of her new book, “The Island of Doves,” set in the early 19th century on Mackinac Island.

Tickets are $5 and are redeemable as $5 toward any purchase the evening of the event.


Library welcomes Fleda Brown

BEULAH — The Darcy Library of Beulah and Benzonia Library present Fleda Brown speaking on her latest collection of poetry “No Need of Sympathy,” from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Friday, July 11, at Darcy Library, located in downtown Beulah near the Betsie Valley Trailhead.

The program is free and open to the public.
