Pasty dinner

FRANKFORT — A pasty dinner, benefiting Benzie Home Health Care will be served from 4 to 7 p.m., Saturday, July 12, at Trinity Lutheran Church.

The $10 adult meal includes a homemade pasty, salad, beverage and ice cream sundae. $5 children's and take-out meals are also available.

Water awareness

ALDEN — Three Lakes Association invites the public to Water Awareness Day, an environmental fair and fundraiser to be held from 1 to 5 p.m., Saturday, July 12 in Alden Depot Park. A suggested donation of $25 per family includes all exhibits, activities, door prizes and food.

Call for artists

TRAVERSE CITY — The Watershed Center Grand Traverse Bay invites artists to apply to their nautical-themed juried art show, taking place Sept.18 to Oct. 24. All mediums are welcome, but should be inspired by the waters of the Grand Traverse Bay watershed, which encompasses portions of Grand Traverse, Antrim, Kalkaska and Leelanau counties. Entry fee is $10 for up to three pieces.

Submissions are due by 5 p.m., July 31. Artists will be notified of admission by Aug. 15. Drop off for art is Sept. 10-12.

The exhibition will be held at The Watershed Center Grand Traverse Bay office, 13272 S. West Bay Shore Dr. An opening reception will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Sept. 18, in conjunction with the Maritime Heritage Academy’s Schooner Festival.

Entries should be emailed to khaas@gtbay.org. Include a high resolution (300 dpi) photo and description of the piece, including medium, title, price and location.

St. Mary chicken dinner

LAKE LEELANAU — The St. Mary annual summer festival and chicken dinner will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, July 13 at 307 S. St. Mary St.

There will be something to do for all ages including Bingo, a quilt raffle, country store, 50/50 raffle, kid's games and more.
