Village Voices concert

NORTHPORT — The Village Voices and the Northport Community Band joined by the Northwestern Community College Band will perform beginning at 7 p.m., this evening, under the pavilion in Marina Park. Fireworks will follow.

 

John Lennon tribute

TRAVERSE CITY — Mark Staycer, in his debut performance for the Concert On The Lawn series, will offer a Tribute To John Lennon at 7 p.m. July 10 at Grand Traverse Pavilions.

The concert is free and open to the public. For more information, call 932-3027. In case of rain or extreme heat (90 degrees plus) the concert will be canceled.

 

Quilt show

MESICK — The Mesick Area Museum will host a quilt show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday and July 12 featuring new, old and unique quilts on display around the museum.

Visitors will be able to vote on the best in show for each kind of quilt.

The museum is located at 117 Mesick Ave. For more information, call 946-3958.

 

Free concert on the beach

TRAVERSE CITY — The Northwestern Michigan College Concert Band will be playing a special outdoor concert at the beach beginning at 7:30 p.m., Juy 17 at the Senior Center, 801 E. Front St.

The Northwestern Michigan College Concert Band is an adult musical organization supported by the College and made up of members of the community and NMC students.

The concert is open to the public. Bring a chair or blanket. Snacks and beverages will be available for purchase. As this is an outdoor event, it will be cancelled if there is rain.

 

Tickets on sale

TRAVERSE CITY — Tickets are now on sale for Old Town Playhouse Young Company’s “Peter Pan, Jr.,” based on the Disney film and J. M. Barrie’s play and novel. Performances are at 7 p.m., July 18 and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., July 19.

Prices are $15 for adults and $6 for children 12 and under. Tickets are available by calling 947-2210, online at www.oldtownplayhouse.com, or in person at the OTP box office.
