Tai Chi in the Park

TRAVERSE CITY — White Crane Tai Chi Association will meet for Sun style Tai Chi practice at 11 a.m., every Tuesday, June 17 through Aug. 19 at the Civic Center, Titus Road entrance, weather permitting.

Public is welcome. Donations only. For more information, call Nancy Deye at 944-5430.

Garden Walk Tickets

TRAVERSE CITY — Tickets for the 32nd Annual Garden Walk hosted by the Friendly Garden Club of Traverse City are available for purchase at the Traverse City Visitor’s Center, Tom’s Markets and several garden centers in the area.

The walk is July 17 and features seven gardens and compost demonstrations at Carter’s Compost Urban Farm. The gardens are located in the Oak Park and Boardman neighborhoods on the Eastside of Traverse City.

Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 on the day of the walk. Children 16 and under are free.

Scholarship fundraiser

TRAVERSE CITY — Veterans for Peace, Chapter 50 will hold a silent auction/jazz concert fundraiser from 7 to 10 p.m., Saturday, June 21, at the Dennos Museum Center, in conjunction with the exhibit of contemporary Chinese photographers and the sculptures of Seungmo Park.

The proceeds will benefit the John Lewis Veterans for Peace scholarship fund, a $1,000 award given annually to a financially needy student who is a veteran or descendent of a veteran.

Farmhouse Frolic

SUTTONS BAY — The Hillside Homestead will host a Farmhouse Frolic from noon to 5 p.m., Sunday, June 22, at the farm located at 3400 N. Setterbo Road.

The event is free and family friendly. Activities include historic cooking demos and tastings in the kitchen, tours of the farmhouse and grounds, waxing eggs for winter storage and a discussion on historic methods of preserving eggs.

Habitat fundraiser

MANCELONA — A music celebration supporting Habitat for Humanity - Antrim County will be held on Sunday, June 22. Musical acts featuring music from the 40s, country and gospel, will begin at 4 p.m., at the Mancelona United Methodist Church, 117 E. Hinman.
