Left Foot birthday

TRAVERSE CITY — Left Foot Charley will celebrate its 10th birthday as winemaker Bryan Ulbrich invites you to join him for a cellar raid from 12-3 p.m. on Saturday, June 14. Wines from each vintage produced by Left Foot Charley, since 2004, will be opened for tasting.

Strawberry Social

WILLIAMSBURG — Williamsburg United Methodist Church’s annual Strawberry Social will be held from 5 - 7 p.m., on Saturday June 14, one block south of M-72 on Williamsburg Road. Feast on Strawberry Shortcake with homemade biscuits and/or strawberry sundaes.

A free will offering will be accepted. The event is open to the public.


Junior Ranger Day

EMPIRE — Families are invited to participate in Junior Ranger Day on Saturday, June 14, at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Events are free. Participants need only to purchase the Park Entrance Pass or have an Annual Pass displayed in their vehicle.

Events include:

• 10 a.m., Cottonwood Trail: Take a walk on the wild side with a Park Ranger to learn about wilderness and why it matters.

• 12:30 p.m., Trails End - Bass Lake: Participate in fun “Leave No Trace” games and activities.

• 2:30 p.m., Philip A. Hart Visitor Center in Empire: Participate in indoor wilderness activities, including maps, art and stories.

• 3:30 p.m., Philip A. Visitor Center in Empire: Join Park Rangers for the Junior Ranger Day ceremony. National Junior Ranger badges will be awarded and snacks provided.

Senior kayak trips

TRAVERSE CITY — The Senior Center Network and Uncommon Adventures, will offer seniors two kayak day trips including professional instruction and the use of sea kayaks, paddles and life vests. Trip dates are June 25 and July 23. The cost is $100.
