Community Sailing marks 20 years
TRAVERSE CITY — Traverse Area Community Sailing (TACS) invites the public to help celebrate its 20th year of community sailing at an ice cream social on Monday, June 16, at its Cornwell Sailing Center on Boardman Lake.
Starting at noon, TACS instructors and board members will serve Moomer’s homemade ice cream and offer tours of the sailing center, answer questions about courses and provide a glimpse at the first group of sailors this summer. At 1 p.m., several founding and current board members will give a short presentation on the history of the organization and plans for the future. Registration for summer sailing classes also will be available. The celebration will conclude at 3 p.m. For details, visit www.tacsailing.com.
Summer food program
KINGSLEY — Kingsley Area Schools will participate in the Summer Food Service Program.
Meals will be served from 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Mondays through Fridays from June 16 through July 17, at the Kingsley Middle School to all children at no charge. No meals will be served Wednesday, July 2, through Friday, July 4.

TRAVERSE CITY — All Traverse City Central High School class of 1957 alumni are invited to lunch on Thursday, June 19.
The get-together will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Elks Club, 625 Bay St. Lunch orders will be taken at 11:30 a.m.
‘Fizz, Boom, Read’
INTERLOCHEN — Children are invited to “have a blast” at the Interlochen Public Library’s summer reading club.
“Fizz, Boom, Read” kicks off at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, at the library, 9700 Riley Road, with a performance of “The Terrible Misgivings of Dr. Frankenmuth” by the Acting Up Theater Co. Programs continue at 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays through Aug. 6, with “Kaboom with Miss Katie” June 25; Skippy and Dave ventriloquist July 2; stories, songs and crafts with library staff July 9; live animals and reptiles July 16; a music program with Kevin Devine July 23; and arts and crafts July 30 and Aug. 6.
