Fairies and Forts

THOMPSONVILLE — Children of all ages are invited to Fairies and Forts, a community event of creative projects and festivities from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Michigan Legacy Art Park. Reading club

Glen Arbor art

GLEN ARBOR — The Glen Arbor Art Association will host an artists reception for an exhibition of work by the Leelanau Women Artists from 5 to 9 p.m. today. Exhibition hours also are Saturday and Sunday at the Art Association, 6031 S. Lake St., across from Cherry Republic. Exhibition hours are 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. Call 334-6112.

Dinner for 4-H

ELK RAPIDS — The Elk Rapids Lions Club will host a “Real Cowboy Dinner” today and Saturday prior to the Elk Rapids Rotary Show.

The meal will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. each day in the Elk Rapids High School cafeteria. The cost is $10 per person and proceeds benefit the Backyard Bunch 4-H Club with members from Central Lake, Williamsburg and Kewadin.

Artist reception

GLEN ARBOR — The Glen Arbor Art Association will host an opening reception for an exhibit of work by the Leelanau Women Artists (LWA) from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the Glen Arbor Art Association, 6031 S.
