NEW BAKERY: The building lately occupied by the Little Tavern and owned by C.M. Bell has been thoroughly remodeled by him and will be opened for business Thursday, April 3rd. A new steel ceiling with two large skylights has been put in. The front has been changed and the entire interior re-decorated. A new Middleber-Marshall oven with a capacity of 300 loaves has been installed, this with a new gas range for frying fried cakes makes a splendid baking outfit.

Mr. Bell has been in the bakery business continuously in Traverse City for 32 years, occupying the same building. Mr. Bell has been enjoying a needed rest while his building has been under repairs and will now resume the active work again giving this his personal attention. Counters and several small tables have been placed for convenience of those who wish quick order lunches.

Township of Paradise Will Have Lively Campaign: Kingsley, March 31.The township of Paradise held a people’s caucus Saturday and Number 1 and Number 2 tickets were placed in the field as follows: Supervisor — No. 1, Ira Linton; No. 2, N.J. Wycoff. Clerk — No. 1 E.R. Chaufty; No. 2, Chas. Wood. Treasurer — No. 1, J.A. MacCarthy; No. 2, Geo Anstead. Highway Commissioner — No. 1, Peter Carlback; No. 2 Bert Cleland.

The arc light globe in front of the Hannah & Lay Merc. Co.’s store was blown into one of the large windows yesterday, completely demolishing the large glass.

A spring party for the benefit of the college students who are home for vacations will be given by the Junior Dancing Club Thursday evening of this week at Horst’s academy.

The Easter musical program “The Lord is Risen” was repeated at the First Congregational church last evening. The house was well filled though the severe rain storm prevented many from attending. One year ago today it was 10 above at six in the morning with a very hard snow storm that turned to a blizzard before night. It was 35 above at six.
