The Grand Traverse Conservation District will hold a Springtime Egg Hunt Saturday at Kids Creek Park featuring eggs that correspond to Michigan critters that actually lay eggs.
Children will be sent on a mission to find five different colors of eggs. They’ll mark them on a scorecard as they continue on to find each of the eggs.
Upon completion, the eggs are traded for candy and a chance to win prizes. Grand prize is a one-night stay at Great Wolf Lodge. Two time slots are available, at 10 and 11:30 a.m.
Ages up to 13 will be accepted, and divided into two groups. Cost is $5 per child. Pre-registration is encouraged at 941-0960. Walk-in participation is not guaranteed.
The Frankfort-Elberta Area Chamber of Commerce’s Easter Egg Hunt is set for Saturday at 10 a.m. in Mineral Springs Park in downtown Frankfort. The Easter Bunny will be on hand for pictures and to visit with children starting at 9:30 a.m. Children should bring a container for eggs.
The Martha Wagbo Farm and Education Center will hold its 10th annual Maple Syrup Open House Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the farm and education center, located at 5745 N. M-66 in East Jordan.
Events include syrup tastings, maple treats, sugar shack tours, a petting zoo, children’s activities, nature hikes and music, along with mini workshops, an Easter Egg hunt, raffle and bake sale. Call 536-0333.
