Talent show

Suttons Bay — The Friends of Fine Arts at Suttons Bay Schools will host its "Suttons Bay Variety Show" tonight, Jan. 25.

The show starts at 7 p.m. in the Suttons Bay Schools auditorium. Admission at the door is $5 for adults, $3 for students or $10 per family. Proceeds benefit the fine arts programs at Suttons Bay Schools. For details, call 271-4983.

'Rock the Rock'

Kingsley — Junior high and high school students are invited to "Rock" The Rock of Kingsley Youth Center on Saturday, Jan. 26.

The event starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Rock of Kingsley, 115 E. Blair St. AlltheMore and Artisan Ocean will give a free concert and there will be games, prizes and a dance party. For details, call 263-7000 or visit

Gallery exhibit

East Jordan — "Realism to Abstraction and Beyond" is the first of the Jordan River Art Center's 2013 exhibits.

The exhibit features more than 20 invited artists who have previously exhibited at JRAC. A reception to meet the artists will be hosted Sunday, Jan. 27.

Hill House event

Mancelona — An open house with artist-in-residence Loren Nosan will be held Wednesday, Jan. 30, at the Hill House, 1610 Autumn Lane.

Fire and Ice

Arcadia — The third annual Fire and Ice Festival will be held Saturday, Feb. 2, as a fundraiser for the Pleasant Valley Community Center.

Activities include a pickle ball tournament, a 5k run, a soup cook-off, free children's games and activities, a meat loaf dinner, a euchre tournament, a showshoe and ski trail, ice skating and more. For details, including a complete schedule, visit
