Library events

Thompsonville — The Betsie Valley District Library will offer two events designed to help cure cabin fever.

A "Grown Up Game Night" will be hosted from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight, Jan. 17. Adults are invited to play euchre or bring a favorite game to share.

A "Winter Fun" story hour will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19. There will be stories, a craft and a snack.

Neighbors meet

Traverse City — The North Traverse Heights Neighborhood Association will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 17, at Traverse Heights Elementary School's library, 933 Rose St. For details, call Shauna Treter, 651-9244.

Flu shot clinic

Traverse City — The Grand Traverse County Health Department will hold a walk-in flu shot clinic on Friday, Jan. 18, for anyone age 4 and older.

Clinic hours are 8:15 to 11:30 a.m. and 1:15 to 3:30 p.m. at the health department, 2600 LaFranier Road. All insurances will be billed. The fee for private pay is $30 for adults and $7 for children. No one will be turned away because of inability to pay.

Warm up for skaters

Benzonia — Mills Community House, 891 Michigan Ave., will host a warming night for skaters using the skating rink in Kiwanis Park, the corner of U.S. 31 and Homestead Road.

On Saturday, Jan. 19, skaters are invited to warm up with free hot beverages and cookies from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Mills Community House.

Dennos hosts singer

Traverse City — Singer-songwriter Kenny White will return to the stage at Milliken Auditorium Friday, Jan. 18.

White opened for Judy Collins in June 2012 at the Dennos. He will perform at 8 p.m. at the museum, 1410 College Dr. Tickets are $25 in advance, $28 at the door and $22 for museum members, plus a $2 processing fee. For details or tickets, call 995-1553; or visit or
