The Cherryland Cares Board recently awarded grants to four non-profit organizations. The funds come from Cherryland Electric Cooperative customers who participate in the cooperative’s “Operation Roundup” program.

Grants were awarded to: Third Level Crisis Intervention Center, $2,250; Rainbow House of Hope, $2,250; Acme Christian Thrift Store and Food Pantry, $1,500; and Blessings in a Backpack, $600.

The Michigan Association of Osteopathic Family Physicians recently elected David Best, DO, of South Boardman as president, and Jeffrey Magnatta, DO, of Traverse City to the Board of Directors as resident alternate.

Hospitalists of Northern Michigan was recently named in Modern Healthcare’s Best Places to Work in Healthcare Awards, which recognizes employers for their outstanding performance in economic development, employee retention and satisfaction.

Hospitalists of Northern Michigan is based in Traverse City. It is one of the largest private hospitalists groups in the nation and is recognized as an innovative leader in the hospitalist movement.
