Bake-Off voting is now open

LAS VEGAS — Public voting for the 46th Pillsbury Bake-Off Contest is now open.

For the first time in the 64-year history of the Bake-Off, the public will determine the 100 recipes that will compete in the Bake-Off Contest finals to be held in Las Vegas in November.

Sixty home cooks from 22 states are currently competing online in the “Amazing Doable Dinnners” category. Voting runs through March 28. The next category, “Simple Sweets and Starters,” will begin accepting original recipe submissions online at www.BakeOff.com starting Thursday, April 4

Egg-coloring demo set at Oryana

TRAVERSE CITY — A new smartphone app makes it easy to find Girl Scout cookie sale locations.

Girl Scouts of Michigan Shore to Shore in partnership with Little Brownie Bakers have announced the development of the Cookie Locator app for Girl Scouts across northern and western Michigan. The app features a navigation bar that allows users to locate cookie booths by typing the zip code, city and state into any web-enabled smartphone.
