TRAVERSE CITY — Three “hatted” women’s groups are accepting new members.
The Black Diamond Lillies, the Red Diva Lunch Bunch and the Kaleidoscope group Aurora Borealis dress up and attend plays, musicals, luncheons and dinners in the area and also travel for conventions and other events. Most members are 60 and older.

Ugly Dress Party
ELK RAPIDS — The fourth annual Ugly Dress Party will be held Saturday, March 2, at the Hacienda.

FRANKFORT — The Oliver Art Center Gift Shop Committee is looking for artists and artisans who create unique and artful work to include in its new gift shop.
Artists who would like to have their work considered for the gift shop are asked to bring in three to four samples between 10 a.m. and noon Friday, April 12, to the Oliver Center for the Arts, 132 Coast Guard Road, for the Gift Shop jury to review. Items must be tagged with a name, a telephone number, and the artist’s price, which will be 70 percent of the sale price. The average price of items will be about $50. Producers of items accepted by the jury will receive 70% commission on each sale.
