Seeger celebration

TRAVERSE CITY — A concert to celebrate the spirit of legendary folk singer and activist Pete Seeger will be held at InsideOut Gallery, 229 Garland St., as part of the “Well May the World Go” celebrations in the region.

The concert starts at 3 p.m. Sunday. It will include music, spoken word, dance and art, with an emphasis on participation. Admission is $10 for adults; free for children. Proceeds benefit FLOW (For the Love of Water), a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing public trust solutions to save the Great Lakes.

OTP Studio Theatre play

TRAVERSE CITY — The Old Town Playhouse Studio Theater production of Keith Huff’s police drama “A Steady Rain” continues this weekend.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. today and Saturday, with a matinee at 3 p.m. Sunday. The production continues Thursday through Saturday, April 17-19. The Studio Theatre is located at The Depot, Woodmere Avenue and East Eighth Street.

Tickets are $15 each and available at the OTP box office or by calling 947-2210. Remaining seats will be on sale at The Depot one hour prior to performances.

Musical fundraiser

TRAVERSE CITY — Friends of Dan Beechraft will host a fundraiser dinner and silent auction Saturday at the Interlochen Eagles, 20724 Honor Hwy.

The event will feature a chicken bowl dinner, silent auction, 50/50 raffle and music by Liquor Boxx. Beechraft, 41 of Lake Ann, died Feb. 27 of injuries he sustained in a head-on crash while driving along U.S. 31 in Benzie County. Money raised during the event will be given to the Beechraft family to cover expenses in the coming months.

The family friendly event is open to the public. Doors open at 3 p.m., dinner will be served from 4-7 p.m. and the band will take the stage at 7 p.m. For more information, call Dean at 590-3621.
