TRAVERSE CITY — Reservations are needed by Thursday, April 3, for the next luncheon meeting of the Grand Traverse Association of Retired School Personnel.
The chapter will meet at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, at the West Bay Beach Resort-A Holiday Inn Resort, 615 E. Front St. The $16 cost includes gratuity. The chapter also will collect donations of gently-used lower elementary classroom library books and math manipulatives at the meeting. For details or reservations, call 933-4269.
Spring break film
KALKASKA — The Kalkaska County Library, 247 S. Cedar St., will host a spring break family movie on Friday, April 4.
Patrons are invited to bring pillows and blankets for a 1 p.m. screening of “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2.” Snacks will be provided. For details, call 258-9411.
INTERLOCHEN — The Traverse Symphony Orchestra will welcome home a guest artist with an “Oboe Fanfare” concert on Sunday, April 6.
Oboist and Traverse City native James Roe will make his debut with the TSO on Handel’s Arrival of the Queen of Sheba and Mozart’s Oboe Concerto. The program also includes Beethoven’s Symphony No. 4. The winning ticket in the Symphony’s 2014 Maestro Raffle will be drawn just after intermission.

Teens stage musical
PETOSKEY — The Purity Ring Family Theatre, a northern Michigan home-school teen group, will stage “Pilgrim,” a contemporary musical based on the classic book “Pilgrim’s Progress” by John Bunyan.
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 4-5, and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 6, at the Petoskey Middle School auditorium, 801 Northmen Dr. The muscial takes a relevant and contemporary look at faith and the real world.

Women Dems meet
CENTRAL LAKE — Brandon Fewins, northern Michigan regional manager for Sen. Debbie Stabenow, will be the guest speaker at the Tuesday, April 8, meeting of the Antrim Women Dems.
The group will meet at noon at the Blue Pelican Inn. Fewins will discuss the recently passed Agriculture Bill and other federal topics.
