PETOSKEY — North Central Michigan College’s nursing and allied health faculty will hold an information session Thursday, March 20, to explain the process for admission into the college’s nursing and allied health career programs.
The session starts at 4 p.m. in room 347 of the college’s Health Education and Science Center on the Petoskey campus, 1515 Howard St. Anyone planning to apply for the nursing or allied health programs is encouraged to attend. The information on prerequisites is especially important for those applying for the fall program.

TRAVERSE CITY — Laura Lenkey, Ph.D., of the Abby D Center will discuss brain health on Tuesday, March 18, at the Village at Bay Ridge, 3850 Scenic Ridge.
The Abby D Center is a cognitive recovery center specializing in individual programs designed to enhance memory, attention, reasoning and problem solving.
The program starts at 11 a.m. in the East Building dining room and at 12:30 p.m. in the West Building dining room.

TRAVERSE CITY — Grand Traverse County’s Natural Education Reserve has been selected for “Heart Your Park,” a program introduced as part of Macy’s “Secret Garden” campaign that aims to raise awareness and money for local parks nationwide.
The reserve is a 505-acre natural area with more than seven miles of trails. It is home to the Boardman River Nature Center and is managed by the Grand Traverse Conservation District.
Through Monday, March 31, customers at the Traverse City Macy’s store can donate $1 or more at the register, with 100 percent of the donations benefiting the Natural Education Reserve.
Macy’s will match the total customer donation across all stores, dollar for dollar, up to $250,000 total.
