On Tuesday a child and family friendly service will start at 6 p.m., followed by a traditional service at 8 p.m. and a candlelight service at 10 p.m. There will be one service at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 25.

BEAR LAKE — Bear Lake Christian Church, 221 Bear Lake Road, invites the community to a casual Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 9 p.m. Tuesday.
TRAVERSE CITY — Unity of Traverse City will celebrate its first Christmas season with its new minister, the Rev. Eileen Stulak.
The church will hold a Christmas Eve candlelight service and a special service for children at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Its Burning Bowl Service will take place during the regular Sunday worship on Dec. 29. This is a time to let go of past limitations and write hopes for the future for the burning bowl. Sunday, Jan. 5, is White Stone Sunday, when the congregation will declare its spiritual intentions for 2014.

The meal will be served from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at G’s Pizzeria, 502 N. Cedar St. The menu features roast turkey, mashed potatoes, a vegetable, rolls, cranberries and dessert. There is no charge and the community is invited.
New Year’s Eve
CADILLAC — The community is invited to celebrate New Year’s Eve with Revival Center Church.
The church will host a Chili (and Soup) Cook-Off and Sledding Party on Dec. 31. Sledding on Cross Hill starts at 4 p.m., followed by the cook-off at 6 p.m. There also will be a snowman building contest. The celebration is free and the public is invited.
