TCCC boys varsity tennis team finishes sixth in the state

TRAVERSE CITY — The Traverse City Central High School boys varsity tennis team recently won regionals and finished sixth in the state in Division I. The team has been selected Academic All State with a cumulative 3.72 GPA, one of the highest in the state.

The Trojan boys varsity tennis doubles teams of Hayden Drury and Caleb Heimburger, and Sean Soupiset and Cam Young were recently selected to the 2012 Boys All State Team. Both were Division I regional champions, and both were seeded at state finals. They won five of the Trojans' 14 points. Drury and Heimburger played No. 1 doubles team for the Trojans. Soupiset and Young (No. 2 doubles team) set a state record for doubles wins with 43.
