William Klintworth, formerly of Traverse City, was elected to the position of Elder at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh.
Kathy Engstrom will be formally installed as the 130th president of the Michigan Pharmacists Association during the Association’s Convention & Exposition Feb. 28-March 2 at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center. She officially took office on Jan. 1.
Engstrom has practiced pharmacy in northern Michigan since 1982. She worked in the Petoskey/Charlevoix area and Sault Ste. Marie before moving to Traverse City in 1998. Arter holding positions with independent pharmacies for 14 years, she began working for Rite Aid in 1993, when they bought out one of her employers. She was also the retail pharmacy manager for Munson Healthcare. Currently, Engstrom works for Meijer as a clinical pharmacist. She also has established her own small business, Northern Michigan Consultant Pharmacists.
Dr. Steven Thomas and Dr. Christopher Jeffries of The Center for Plastic Surgery at Copper Ridge have donated $3,135 in support of Munson Healthcare’s Navigator Program. The money was raised by sponsoring Breast Cancer Awareness Night with the Traverse City Beach Bums.
The Navigator Program pairs women with an abnormal finding or a diagnosis of breast cancer with a Navigator companion. As breast cancer survivors themselves, Navigator companions offer emotional support, share information and help guide patients and their family members from diagnosis through treatment.
