Acid reflux seminar

Traverse City — Michael Nizzi, DO, will offer a seminar today, Oct. 25, on a new non-invasive procedure for patients suffering from gastroesophageal reflux.

Using transoral incisionless fundoplication (TIF), Dr. Nizzi can, with minimal discomfort, repair the anti-reflux valve that allows acid to travel up the esophagus. He will discuss the procedure from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Munson Medical Center's conference rooms 1-3, 1105 Sixth St. The seminar is free, but registration is requested; call (888) 838-9160 or visit www.munsonhealthcare.org.

Pavilions' job fair

Traverse City — Registration is required and due Friday, Oct. 26, for a Grand Traverse Pavilions Job Fair for direct care staff. No calls or walk-ins will be accepted after Friday.

The fair's "Meet and Greet" times are 8-10 a.m., 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30. It is specifically for certified nurse aides, universal workers, and individuals interested in training to be a nurse aide.

Author signs books

Traverse City — Timothy Basil Ering, author of "The Story of Frog Belly Rat Bone" and illustrator of "The Tale of Despereaux," will sign his books from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at Horizon Books, 243 E. Front St. For details, call 946-7290, (800) 587-2147 or visit www.horizonbooks.com.

Dennos holiday fair

Traverse City — The annual Dennos Museum Holiday Art Fair will be held Friday through Sunday, October 26-28.

Holiday shoppers can choose fine arts and crafts from 50 area artists, Christmas and Chanukah gifts, arts and crafts kits and more from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 1-5 p.m. Sunday.

Again this year there will be an education benefit raffle to help raise funds to offset the cost of school visits. The holiday artists have donated art for the raffle. Tickets will be sold onsite only and are $2 each or six for $5.

Museum admission is free during the sale. The Dennos Museum Center is at 1410 College Dr., at the entrance to Northwestern Michigan College. For details, call 995-1586.
